This study was a transcriptome analysis of a genome reduced E. coli strain (KHK collection), wild-type W3110, obtained from the National Bioresource Project of the National Institute of Genetics, Shizuoka, Japan. It is not clear what effect this has on the compensation of the growth rate of strains with reduced genomes after the use of optimal media. To find this out, we chose to culture under different meida conditions that resulted in the greatest compensation of growth rate. Next, we performed RNA-seq on all strains and analysed the transcriptome data. The purpose of this study is to determine how the improved medium affected the genome reduction strains and to explain this by fluctuations in the transcriptome.
