资源简介:
Musket trigger guard from the wreck of the Earl Of Abergavenny. ID: EOA:2022.110.1 Collection: Earl of Abergavenny Classification: Passengers/military Measurements: Length 150mm Width 25mm Date made: as yet unknown Display: not on display Manufacturer/Creator: as yet unknown Credit: Portland Museum Trust This broken trigger guard came from a British musket, either a Government issue 'Model 1793 India Pattern' or an East India Company 'Windus's Pattern'. Both were identical except for the markings, which are no longer present. These muskets were lightweight, simplified versions of the famous 'Brown Bess'. The East India Company developed this type of musket (named after Lt Col Edward Windus) in 1771 and even supplied examples to the British Army during the Napoleonic Wars before the Model 1793 entered production.
