Association of knowledge and beliefs with the misuse of antibiotics in parents: A study in Beirut (Lebanon)

This dataset
corresponds to data collected and analyzed in a cross-sectional
study about the association of knowledge and beliefs with the misuse of
antibiotics in Lebanon. Data were collected from a population of 1,421 parents of
schoolchildren in the capital Beirut, using an anonymous self-administered
Knowledge, Attitude and Practices questionnaire. The participants´ level of
agreement with each item of knowledge and beliefs was measured using a Likert-type
(0-10) scale. Misuse behaviors were determined through a series of questions aiming
to identify the sources of antibiotics consumed in the previous month as well
as the level of compliance with physicians´ instructions in terms of dosage and
duration.
