BRESOV Snap Bean Panel Multi-Location Field Trials

The dataset includes all phenotypic data recorded for Snap Bean Panel (SBP) lines during Multi-Location Field Trials (MLFTs) carried out in three localities in different years. Overall, seven agronomic field trials were carried out in Italy, Romania and Spain for three years (2019, 2020 and 2021).

The geographic coordinates of the MLFTs are:

Italy – experiments were carried out in South Italy, at the farm ‘Azienda Agricola LAURIA MARIA’, in Paterno, Potenza, Italy (latitude 40°21’25.6“N, longitude 15°49’51.8”E, and altitude 592 m above sea level), on an organically managed fertile coarse-lime soil.

Romania – experiments were carried out in Bacau, Romania (latitude 46° 34′ 50″ N, longitude 26° 57′ 12″ E)

Spain – experiments were carried out in Villaviciosa, Asturias, Spain (latitude 43° 28′ 53″ N, longitude 5° 26′ 7″ W and 20 m altitude above sea level).

SBP_2019 field trial – ITALY

In 2019, a total of 229 SBP lines were evaluated. The position of each line in the field was completely randomized with two replicates per line.

SBP_2020 field trial – ITALY

In 2020, a total of 297 SBP lines were evaluated. The position of each line in the field was completely randomized with three replicates per line.

SBP_2019 field trial – ROMANIA

In 2019, a total number of 229 SBP were evaluated. The position of each line in the field was completely randomized with two replicates per line.

SBP_2020 field trial – ROMANIA

In 2020, a total of 296 accessions of the SBP were sown. The position of each line in the field was completely randomized with three replicates per line.

SBP_2019 field trial – SPAIN

In 2019, a total of 295 SBP lines were evaluated. The position of each line in the field was completely randomized with two replicates per line.

SBP_2020 field trial – SPAIN

In 2020, a total of 311 SBP lines were evaluated in field under organic conditions. Due to the Covid-19 emergency, it was only possible to sow one replicate per line with ten plants distributed in one meter.

SBP_2021 field trial – SPAIN

In 2021, a total of a total of 305 SBP lines and further 17 Hyper Core Collection (HCC) lines were evaluated in field under organic conditions.
