FL sponge microbiome 2020

Sponges of six species were sampled for incurrent and excurrent water in the lower Florida Keys in December 2020. The seawater was used for dissolved and particulate nutrient analysis. Additionally, sponge sections were cut after sampling each individual and used for microbiome profiling. This study contains the sequences for the microbiome profiling of the six sponge species (Xestospongia muta, Verongula rigida, Ircinia strobilina, Agelas tubulata, Iotrochota birotulata, Niphates digitalis). Microbiomes were also correlated with dissolved nutrient processing.
