Data was collected through observation of a section of the Finch Hydro Corridor Recreational Trail and its connection to Black Creek Parkland in North York, Ontario for three separate periods of approximately 40 minutes each (one hour, 17 minutes total). <br>Observation was conducted by selecting three areas of interest: a grassy section of the Finch Hydro Corridor Recreational Trail, a tree and bush covered section of the same trail, and the area around one section of Black Creek in Black Creek Parkland. After selecting these three areas, repeated walk-throughs of the route were executed, with short stops at each significant point chosen. Stops were longer or shorter depending on the level of activity. <br>In an effort to see how biodiversity varied depending on the time of day, observation was conducted in the morning, evening, and night. The first observation period took place in the late evening, starting at approximately 19:00pm. In the first area of interest, the grassy section, a black squirrel, black bird, blackfly, and cabbage white butterfly were observed between 19:15 and 19:25. In the second area, the tree covered section, three bats were observed flying at 19:30. In the third area, surrounding the creek, a song sparrow, a cricket, a robin, a beetle, and another blackfly were observed between 19:33 and 19:50. The second observation period took place in the late night, starting at approximately 1:45. This time a rabbit, a skunk, a rabbit with its bunny, a racoon, and two moths were observed in the grassy area between 1:50 and 2:07. In the tree covered area no organisms were observed. By the creek, three more rabbits, another moth, and another skunk were observed between 2:13 and 2:27. Finally, one more raccoon was observed in the grassy area at 2:47. The third observation period took place in the morning between 9:00 and 9:35. In the grassy section a snail and a pigeon were observed between 9:03 and 9:06. A black squirrel was spotted in the wooded area at 9:07. And in the creek area two ducks, 15 snails on a branch, and a grey squirrel were observed between 9:11 and 9:26. <br>
