Thermal conductivity up to 60 m depth

The map shows the specific thermal conductivity of the rocks in the subsurface up to a depth of 60 m. It is classified into 17 yield levels, of 4 W/(m*K). The classification is based on the mean specific thermal conductivity of the rocks encountered in the subsoil at [W/(m*K)] to 60 m depth. The geothermal yield is calculated on the basis of representative boreholes from the Bavarian Soil Information System (BIS). Based on the lithological description of the wells, such as sand, limestone or granite, and the groundwater conditions (dry/saturated), measured thermal conductivity is assigned to the individual layers to a depth of 100 m. In the following, an average value for the respective depth level is given and interpolated. The dataset provides a basis for large-scale considerations and does not replace the carrying out of detailed investigations.
