Cross Sections - Engineering

Last data update: December 21, 2025 This cross-section layer contains the most current cross section locations at all storm levels (2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 year and regional events) from hydraulic and hydrologic analysis and the related floodplain elevations. In general estimated cross-section information is available for Ramara, Oro and in isolated locations within Uxbridge and Brock. In general engineered cross-section information is available for York Region, Municipality of Durham, and in Innisfil and Bradford-West Gwillimbury of Simcoe County. Cross-section information is taken from studies involving hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and attributes of water surface elevation, velocities, discharge, and ID. Cross-section data for engineered floodplains are based on engineered studies. Cross section data for estimated floodplains are based on the 2002 Digital Elevation Model (DEM) with an elevation accuracy of +/-0.5 m, and DEM developed sections at ~ 250 m intervals. Culverts have not been included in the estimated hydraulic models. More recent revisions to estimated hydraulic models use the current DEM, and cross-sections at 100 m intervals.
