Beneath the Surface: Invasive Disease Driven by Nonencapsulated Streptococcus pneumoniae.

This case report describes a bacteremic pneumococcal pneumonia episode involving the first non-typeable Streptococcus pneumoniae (NT-Spn) causing invasive disease, according to the national epidemiology, in the last five years and the characterization of the strain, including its genetic background.
