To investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying alkaline tolerance in Oryza sativa L. ssp. japonica, we performed a comparative transcriptome analysis. Seedlings of the wild-type cultivar Caidao and the OsNAC15 knockout mutant (osnac15) were treated with 70 mM NaHCO3 for 0 h (control) and 6 h. A total of 12 samples under 2 conditions across these experimental conditions were sequenced and analyzed to evaluate the effects of alkaline stress on rice growth and to identify key regulatory genes.
