JapanFlux2024 JP-Shn Shinshu University Experimental Forest Site

The Alps Field Science Center (AFC) has stations in four areas of Nagano Prefecture, including the campus of Shinshu University, each located in a diverse and unique natural environment unparalleled by similar facilities at other universities in Japan. These stations are actively engaged in practical education and research activities in the field, while practicing sustainable agricultural and forestry production activities that make the most of their respective natural environments. The observation site is located in a training forest (elevation 754-785 m, area 15 ha) within the Shinshu University Faculty of Agriculture campus station (consisting of a farm, a training forest, and a Suganuma paddy field). It is a temperate mixed forest site dominated by larch. The turbulent fluxes of sensible heat, latent heat, CO2 were measured using the eddy covariance system.
