Geophysical dataset of the Gulf of Orosei Shelf–Slope System
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains the geophysical data used in the study of the Plio-Quaternary stratigraphic architecture and geomorphological evolution of the continental shelf and upper slope of the Gulf of Orosei (eastern Sardinia, Western Mediterranean). The dataset includes: High-resolution Digital Terrain Models (DTMs) derived from multibeam echosounder surveys, used for the analysis of seabed morphology and geomorphological features. High-resolution seismic reflection profiles acquired with Sparker and CHIRP systems, used to investigate the shallow subsurface stratigraphy, identify seismic units, erosional surfaces, depositional architectures, and sequence stratigraphic relationships. Associated navigation data for the geophysical surveys. These data were processed and interpreted to reconstruct the evolution of the continental margin from the Late Pliocene to the present, with particular emphasis on the development of progradational shelf-edge deposits, erosional unconformities, submerged fluvial valleys, and the influence of tectonic uplift, relative sea-level fluctuations, and sediment bypass toward submarine canyons. The Digital Terrain Models are provided in GeoTIFF format, while the seismic profiles are supplied in SEG-Y format. The dataset is intended to support the results presented in the associated publication and to enable reproducibility of the geological interpretations as well as future comparative studies of Mediterranean continental margins. Geographic Coverage Study area: Gulf of Orosei, eastern Sardinia, Italy (Western Mediterranean Sea) Data Formats GeoTIFF (Digital Terrain Models) SEG-Y (Sparker seismic reflection profiles) XTF (Chirp seismic reflection profiles)
