‘Lingwu Long’ Jujube (Zizyphus jujuba cv. Mill) is a kind of well-known freshly consumed variety in China, which is favored for its high nutritional value, good taste. But, the fruit is very perishable and susceptible to browning, decay, and water & nutritional loss at ambient temperature, which greatly affects its edible and commercial value. Low temperature storage is an important approach to prolong the postharvest life. However, the fruit are susceptible to surface dot-pitting under low temperature storage, which can cause a loss commercial quality. We performed a transcriptome analysis, using RNA-Seq technology, to investigate the postharvest transcriptional changes of the surface dot-pitting jujube fruit (SPF).
