资源简介:
In response to challenges identified in Pakistan’s 2013 national elections, the United States Agency for International Development in Pakistan (USAID/Pakistan) designed the Pakistan Electoral and Democratic Support (PEDS) project to increase citizen confidence in the civilian government and strengthen the environment for free and fair elections. The project employed an integrated approach to strengthen linkages between the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), local civil society organizations, and political parties. The project consisted of four components: the Strengthening Electoral and Legislative Processes (SELP) program, implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP); the Political Party Development Program (PPDP), implemented by the National Democratic Institute (NDI); the Prevention of Election-related Violence, implemented by the United States Institute of Peace (USIP). The program review assessed the effectiveness of each of the PEDS components; and the Citizens’ Voice Project (CVP), implemented by the Trust for Democratic Education and Accountability (TDEA) and Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN).
