This dataset includes long-term field observations and numerical model outputs used in the work titled "<i>Temporally clustered streamflow events control focused groundwater recharge in drylands</i>". Field data were collected at Fowlers Gap Creek, New South Wales, Australia, and comprise daily rainfall and reference evapotranspiration (Penman–Monteith), 15-minute streamflow records from a bubbler gauge installed within the ephemeral channel, and groundwater level measurements from piezometer FG79 (screened 18–21 m below ground surface). This also includes inputs for and outputs from a process-based variably saturated flow model implemented using the <i>PorousFlow </i>module of the <i>Multiphysics Object-Oriented Simulation Environment</i> (MOOSE). Model outputs include time series and spatial fields of saturation, pressure head, and recharge under different streamflow sequencing scenarios, supporting analysis of threshold behaviour and temporal clustering effects on focused groundwater recharge.
