Here, we present the draft genome sequence of Tenacibaculum ovolyticum isolate To-7Br recovered from a farmed specimen of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) showing signs of tenacibaculosis, which is most commonly caused by Tenacibaculum dicentrarchi in Chile. This isolate was recovered from a gill as a part of a microbiological sampling to determine the cause of infection in a fish cage. The present study provides the first detailed insights into the genomic characteristics of T. ovolyticum isolated for the first time from fish farmed in Chile. Considering that isolate To-7Br remains viable for laboratory culturing, more details about virulence potential will be reported in a future publication.
