NRS-3689 | Department of Agriculture correspondence files

These files were created by the Division of Animal Production, Department of Agriculture, after it assumed responsibility for the supervision of dairies and farm milk quality. This responsibility was transferred from the Dairy Industry Authority to the Department of Agriculture in July 1979. The files, which were transferred to the New South Wales Dairy Corporation after the Corporation assumed responsibility for this function in 1984, consist of correspondence relating to the supervision and testing of milk quality; campaigns to improve milk quality; and correspondence with, and minutes of, the Dairy Produce Factories Advisory Committee. Also included in 12/13882 is an unregistered file, which mainly comprises copies of correspondence and papers, dating from 1983 to 1985, relating to the transfer of functions and secondment of officers from the Department of Agriculture.
