资源简介:
With advancements in space exploration, hypersonic travel, and nuclear technology, there is a growing demand
for materials that can withstand extreme conditions, including exposure to high temperatures, radiation,
corrosion, and chemical reactivity. The highest melting temperature (Tm) recorded to date is in Ta4HfC5, with a
Tm of 4215 K. However, a recent theoretical simulation indicates that a ternary Hf-C-N alloy containing 20
at. % of N and 27 at. % of C could potentially increase the Tm record by an additional 200 K. In this proposal,
we aim to investigate for the first time the Hf-C-N ternary system using laser-heated diamond anvil cells (LH-DACs) and to synthesize multiple novel compounds, with some expected to exhibit very high Tm, potentially
surpassing the current known record. The crystal structures of these compounds will be solved and refined
through the analysis of the collected single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) data.
