Muscle and Liver transcriptome analysis of fast- and slow-growth Coilia ectenes

Fast growth is one of the most desired traits for fish, which affects the profitability their production. Growth of Coilia ectenes has been greatly improved by artificial selection breeding, but molecular mechanisms underlying growth remains poorly understood, which limited the molecular integrative breeding of fast growth with other superior traits. In this study, comparative transcriptome analyses between the fast-growing and slow-growing selectively breed Coilia ectenes were conducted by RNA-Seq.
