资源简介:
This dataset accompanies the study "Investigating the Design of a Photoplethysmography Device for Clinical Applications" conducted by Anneri Appel (Aspeling) and Dr. Rensu P. Theart. It includes raw and processed data collected from 110 participants (participant 056 excluded due to a measurement error) and is intended to support reproducibility, further research, and development in photoplethysmography (PPG) device design and performance evaluation.
Structure of the Dataset:
1. Data Folder:
This folder contains PPG data recorded for each participant (except 056) using both green-LED and red-LED devices. Each participant has 8 text files named using the following convention:
ONSM_{GREEN/RED}_{data/time}_{IR/RG}_{participant number}.txt
- ONSM refers to the Onsemi photodiode used to capture the data.
- {GREEN/RED} indicates whether the data was captured using the green-LED or red-LED PPG device.
- {data/time} specifies whether the file contains ADC data (range: 0–65536) or timestamps (in milliseconds).
- {IR/RG} indicates the LED type used (infrared or red/green).
- {participant number} identifies the participant (001–110, excluding 056).
Data and timestamp files are paired, such that timestamps for ONSM_GREEN_data_IR_1.txt are located in ONSM_GREEN_time_IR_1.txt.
2. Participants Folder:
This folder contains a metadata file for each participant (001–110, excluding 056) with the following fields:
- No: Participant number.
- Age: Age in years.
- Sex: Biological sex (M/F).
- BMI: Body Mass Index classification (Normal, Underweight, Overweight).
- MST: Monk Skin Tone scale (1–10, where 10 indicates the darkest skin tone).
- CVH: Presence of known cardiovascular health problems.
- Blood Pressure: Blood pressure readings (mmHg).
- Seconds, SpO2, BPM: Time-stamped blood oxygen saturation (percent) and heart rate (beats per minute).
Key Features and Applications:
This dataset is relevant for researchers and developers working on:
1. PPG Device Design and Optimization: Includes raw hardware configuration data such as light source wavelength, brightness, photodetector lens shape, and sensor-to-skin contact pressure.
2. Participant Study Analysis: Provides cardiovascular metrics collected from a demographically diverse group, facilitating investigations into the effects of factors like skin tone (MST) and BMI on PPG signal quality.
3. Neural Network Training: Contains data that can be used to train and validate neural networks for applications like blood pressure estimation.
Intended Use:
The dataset is designed to support reproducibility of findings from the study and encourage further research in PPG-based vital sign monitoring, particularly in diverse clinical and demographic settings.
