Repeal of measures under IG-L.

Following exceedances of limit values for PM10, NO2 and benzo(a)pyrene, programmes and measures pursuant to the Immission Control Act-Air (IG-L) have been adopted in some federal states. On behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMK) and in cooperation with state government offices, the Federal Environment Agency has proposed criteria and developed guidelines on how to proceed with the repeal or amendment of these measures. Those criteria shall include an assessment of the change in the pollution load, consideration of the meteorological variation range, an assessment of the risk of non-compliance with the limit value and increase in pollution, and an assessment of the trend in emissions. For the analyses and the result of the criteria check, the guidelines provide for documentation in a report or in an opinion.
