TC-SAR-Coast: an event-based Sentinel-1 SAR dataset with high-resolution wind fields for coastal tropical cyclones

TC-SAR-Coast v3.2 is an event-based Sentinel-1 synthetic aperture radar (SAR) dataset for coastal tropical cyclones. The release contains 277 tropical-cyclone events, 411 event-track directories, and 3128 Sentinel-1 SAR scenes organized in an event-track-scene structure. The dataset provides L0-L3 records, including SAR scene provenance, tropical-cyclone matching information, scene-level quality metrics, S/A/B/C usability labels, approximately 1 km gridded SAR-derived L3 wind fields, masks, background fields, diagnostics, validation matchup tables, machine-readable index tables, documentation, and compact example-analysis products. The dataset is designed to support studies of coastal tropical-cyclone wind structure, high-resolution SAR wind retrieval, model-background consistency, validation against independent observations, and coastal-ocean applications under strong wind conditions. Original third-party source products remain subject to their provider terms, citation requirements, quality controls, and update policies.
