There are several investigations aimed at discovering salt responsive miRNAs and analyzing their functions in model plants such as Arabidopsis thaliana. In this study, we constructed small RNA libraries from the leaf of both control and salt treated Oryza coarctata, a halophytic wild relatives of rice and a large number of known and novel miRNAs were identified.
