To evaluate the feasibility of chlorine reduction in local drinking water distribution systems (DWDS), experimental areas with low chlorine concentration were determined in two cities. Online monitoring of bacterial cells and particles was performed. This study contains the reads obtained by sequencing amplicons of the V3-V4 region of the 16S rRNA with an Illumina MiSeq used to explore the microbial communities present in eight biofilms.
