Dataset for Obesity and the Risk of Sepsis, a nation-wide inpatient study

The Nationwide Inpatient Sample (NIS) is part of
the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP), sponsored by the Agency for
Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), formerly the Agency for Health Care
Policy and Research (“HCUP-US NIS
Overview”).
Data are collected annually and made publicly available 2 years afterward. The
NIS 2011 dataset was released in June 2013.Since modelling with multi-level survey data was
complex, we could only use 10% random subsample which accounted for 673,727
hospital discharges
