Border detection of a Chinook salmon bafinivirus (CSBV) from imported goldfish (Carassius auratus). The susceptibility of two UK native fish, common carp (Cyprinus carpio) and Atlantic salmon, to the virus under laboratory conditions was evaluated. Viral genome, ultrastructural characterization, diagnostic tools, infection trails, histopathology, viral loads and seroconversion were analysed. The pathogenicity of this nidovirus in native fish species under the conditions tested was discussed.
