Deep geothermal energy production in France in 2020, by department

Deep geothermal energy equipment operates from 400 meters and below for heating purposes or electricity generation. Most installations dedicated to deep geothermal energy in France are located in the Paris and Aquitaine basins. Other sites can be found in the Great East region.We can observe that the Paris basin generated more than 2 terawatt-hours from deep geothermal energy in 2020, of which, more then 50 percent came from the Val-de-Marne department.
