Flavopiridol, a therapeutic natural compound inhibiting the oncogenic activity of Greatwall kinase

We have identified Flavopiridol, a phytochemical inhibitor of GWL using insilico approach and various cell-based assays. Furthermore, the natural chemical showed anti-proliferative activity against breast cancer cells, with potency and inhibitory efficacy in the nM range. Flavopiridol exhibits potent anticancer efficacy via a variety of mechanisms, including cell cycle arrest and induction of apoptosis. With this piece of research work, we have identified Flavopiridol, a naturally produced drug, as a novel MASTL kinase inhibitor with high anticancer activity as a prospective therapeutic lead for breast cancer.
