Ocean Current data from digital data holdings at JODC

Ocean current data has been observed by Geomagnetic Electrokinetograph(GEK),ship drift, and Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP). For each observation, data source,position, and current direction and speed are recorded. For ship drift data, the individual observations are not highly accurate because other factors such as wind that affect the ship's course are ignored in this approximation. The data measured by ADCP have current data at various depth in the observation, however, the only surface currents are filed. Data in these files are available as copies of specified data subsets on magnetic tapes, floppy disks,CD-ROMs or printed form.
