Surface Archives is a set of 2 CD-ROMs containing standard SAO format surface data. Each file contains surface data in standard text format for over 200 primary United States weather stations at a specific date and hour. There are thousands of these files, providing continuous hourly coverage, 24 files per day, for every day from 1961 to 1990. This enables synoptic weather charts at any given hour from 1961-90 to be reconstructed. The datasets were constructed for researchers, investigators, insurance adjusters, students, authors, and hobbyists. A fully functional, complimentary WeatherGraphix program is included which can read these datasets and produce weather charts on the fly.
