资源简介:
Metadata: Replicates: A total of 10 transect samples were randomly selected in both grassland and woodland locations to record the frequency of the number of bird sightings within the specified location. Species: Different types of birds observed Frequency: The number of times a bird was seen at the specified location that was marked by the transect. Wind Speed: Recorded in km/h by the weather network app and then converted into the Beaufort scale. Distance: An observed estimate of a bird’s distance to the ground according to the transect placed accordingly Location: Where the transect was placed and data was recorded Method: On September 26, 2016, at the York University grasslands and woodlots, a study was conducted with partners Moses and Numra. The study was performed at 3:00 to 4:30 pm on a rainy day with a temperature of 15°C. The study was on recording data based on the frequency of bird sightings within the specified area using a transect. The data that was collected was by randomly placing the transect in both woodlots and grassland locations and seeing what types of birds flew by and estimating their distance from the ground. A transect was placed on the ground at 9m for each replicate. The first five replicates took place in the grasslands while the last five replicates took place in the woodlots. For each replicate, a timed ten minutes was seen as appropriate to observe the birds flying. After the ten minutes, the wind speed, species, frequency, and distance was recorded. Hypothesis: If it is raining, there will be a decrease in the number of birds flying in the sky.
