Data Description for "Nutrient Peak Shifts in the Arctic: Implications for Migratory Herbivores under Climate Change" This dataset includes various climate and satellite products used to analyze nutrient peak shifts in the Arctic and their implications for migratory herbivores. The dataset is organized into several categories: ESA Satellite Products: LAI (Leaf Area Index) and NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) data from 1999 to 2020, provided at a daily resolution for the Arctic region, which are essential for tracking vegetation dynamics over time. CMIP6 Historical Model LAI Files: Historical LAI data from multiple climate models (ACCESS-ESM1-5, CMCC-CM2-SR5, CMCC-ESM2, EC-Earth3-CC, IPSL-CM6A-LR, MPI-ESM1-2-HR, MPI-ESM1-2-LR) from the period 2000-2014, used to assess past vegetation changes in the Arctic. Masks: A GLDAS product (NOAH3.6) for vegetation masking, supporting the analysis of vegetation coverage. Polynomial Coefficients: Polynomial coefficients used for converting satellite-derived vegetation data into comparable metrics for LAI and NDVI. DOY (Day of Year) Products: Historical, satellite-derived, and model-based DOY files for multiple climate scenarios (SSP2-4.5, SSP5-8.5, and others), detailing the timing nutrient peaks. These files include ensemble mean and standard deviation outputs from multiple models. CSV File: Model Weights (model_weights.csv) used in weighting different climate model projections for further analysis. The dataset consists of 43 NetCDF files and 1 CSV file, designed to facilitate the study of how climate change influences nutrient availability and its impact on Arctic migratory herbivores.
