资源简介:
In the framework of the ongoing project “Orthopedic Heritage”, photographic materials about key characters who had the most significant influence on the development of the Saratov orthopedic school are published for the first time. The development of the Saratov school of orthopedics began in the 1910s and is associated with such scientists as Leonid Deryabin, Alexander Yeletsky, Alexey Demidov. Thanks to these orthopedists in the first half of the 20th century, Saratov became an influential orthopedic center in the USSR.
Leonid Deryabin founded the first private orthopedic clinic at the European level in Saratov, which became known throughout the country, and put forward Saratov as a new orthopedic center.
Alexander Yeletsky was the first among the scientists of the USSR to perform hip and knee joint arthroplasty with his tuberculosis injury.
In the late 1930s, his student Alexei Demidov completed his first doctoral dissertation on orthopedics in Saratov. Demidov's students completed the development of the Saratov orthopedic school by the end of the 1950s.
