Overview: This dataset contains survey responses from a cross-sectional study examining the relationship between impulsivity traits, socio-cognitive beliefs, risky alcohol use, and problematic mobile sports betting. The data was collected to analyze how these factors interact within a Latin American university context, specifically addressing the gap in research regarding mobile betting in Chile.Methodology:Participants: The sample consists of 75 university students enrolled in higher education institutions in Concepción, Chile.Data Collection: Data was collected via an anonymous online survey (Microsoft Forms) during the first two weeks of November 2025.Study Design: Quantitative, cross-sectional, correlational design.Variables and Instruments: The dataset includes the following measures:Impulsivity: Assessed using the 20-item Short UPPS-P Impulsive Behavior Scale (SUPPS-P), covering negative urgency, positive urgency, lack of premeditation, lack of perseverance, and sensation seeking.Mobile Sports Betting: Includes filter questions, frequency of betting, monthly expenditure, preferred channels, and types of bets (e.g., parlay, in-play).Socio-cognitive Beliefs: 11 items based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), measuring subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and intention to bet.Problem Gambling Severity: Measured using the Problem Gambling Severity Index (PGSI).Alcohol Use: Measured using the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) for consumption and related problems.Demographics: Age, gender, university, degree program, residence type, income, and employment status.Data Processing: Likert-type items are numerically coded (e.g., 1 to 4).
