Flood Hazard Projections and Maps for the Delaware and Raritan Basins in the Northeast U.S. based on CESM2-LENS Large Ensemble
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains flood peaks, annual exceedance probability discharges, and associated flood maps based on hydrologic simulations using precipitation and temperature from CESM2-LENS 100 ensemble members from 1981 to 2100. The simulations are conducted based on downscaling of precipitation and temperature with seven downscaling techniques. For each combination of ensemble member (100) and downscaling technique (7), we run 120-years of continuous simulations. The seven techniques consist of: detrended quantile matching (dqm); empirical quantile mapping (eqm); generalized quantile mapping (gpqm); mean variance adjustment (mva); parametric quantile mapping (pqm); quantile delta mapping (qdm); and a simple scaling. All file names are labelled for each method. For the CESM based simulations, flood frequency estimation is performed for three 34-year periods of 1981-2014 (historical), 2033-2066 (near future), and 2067-2100 (far future). This estimation using CESM is completed for each ensemble member and downscaling technique separately. For each simulation set, we perform flood frequency analysis using the Log-Pearson Type III (LPIII). Each file containing the results is named based on the downscaling method. For the flood peaks and AEPs, each csv contains the year, the value, the CESM member, and the LinkID associated with the river network. The river network provided is from the NHDPlusV2 for our study region and the LinkID corresponds to the COMID in this file. Finally, these flood frequency results are transformed to flood maps using Height Above Nearest Drainage (HAND) approach. The flood map rasters are labeled with time period, AEP, and downscaling method. Each map has values ranging from 0 to 100 indicating the number of ensemble member flood maps for a given scenario which had a given cell inundated. An accompanying paper discussing the results is under review.
