This study explores northern Thailand's microbial structure of two distinct lithic types, sandstone and limestone. To better understand the lithic ecosystems' differences, the surrounding soils' microbial diversity was also analyzed. The study aims to observe the bacterial and fungal communities and their diversity in lithic environments, with a focus on their role as microbial reservoirs, and to examine and understand the biogeochemical processes that sustain microbial colonization on or within lithic habitats in this hot and humid region of northern Thailand. Future biotechnological advancements could leverage these natural bioresources under oligotrophic conditions, paving the way for sustainable innovations
