Dataset of Comorbid Atherosclerosis and Alzheimer's Disease

The gene datasets selected for this study are all sourced from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/). In order to better reflect the actual situation of clinical patients, we selected datasets from patients with "atherosclerosis" (AS) and "Alzheimer's disease" (AD) respectively. The atherosclerosis dataset includes GSE100927 and GSE28829, while the Alzheimer's disease dataset includes GSE97760 and GSE48350 for research purposes. Among them, GSE100927 and GSE97760 serve as the study sets, and GSE28829 and GSE48350 serve as the validation sets. Furthermore, through a variety of bioinformatics analysis methods, we identified 4 key shared differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in comorbid atherosclerosis (AS) and Alzheimer's disease (AD), namely EGR2, LST1, MS4A7, and OASL. This dataset also contains expression quantitative trait loci (eQTLs) data of these 4 key DEGs, as well as genome-wide association study (GWAS) data of AS and AD. The supplementary data include the results of Mendelian randomization analysis between the 4 key DEGs and the two diseases (AS and AD).
