To investigate the gut microbiota associated with the development of coronary heart disease (CHD) in hypercholesterolaemia patients (H), we enrolled 55 Thai male volunteers, comprising 24 healthy controls (N), 17 individuals with H, and 14 with CHD. The 16S metagenomic profiles were obtained from 16S ribosomal RNA gene amplicons using the Illumina MiSeq system.
