VPRS 18171 Admission and Discharge Register of Residents (Janefield Training Centre)

This series consists of volumes which record summary information on the admission and discharge of residents from the Janefield Training Centre (VA 2847).It is thought that the register was begun around the time that the facility was proclaimed as a Training Centre, which was in October 1962. If so, all existing patients at that time would have been entered into the register at its inception.Register of Residents include the following information:- Type of Admission (V, R, A, J, S) (as detailed in sections 41-58 of the Mental Health Act 1959)- Admission Number (sequential number by gender)- Date of Admission- Full Name- Secretary's Signature- Date of Birth- Marital State- Occupation- Previous Place of Abode- Religion- Form of Mental Disorder- Bodily Condition- Superintendent's Signature- Date of Death, Discharge- Secretary's Signature- Discharge Category.These volumes each have a name index at the beginning, with separate lists by gender.
