The experiments outlined in this proposal will determine the structure of monolayers and multilayers of a key light-harvesting molecule in photosynthesis—chlorophyll—at the electrode/electrolyte interface and how this is affected by light and applied potential. This will allow us to better understand the mechanisms of electron-transport in pigment-based bioelectronic devices.
