The primary outcomes measured in this study were defined in terms of mycologic cure and clinical cure at the end of treatment course. Therefore, this study aims to compare efficacy of topical liposomal amphotericin B versus clotrimazole cream in tinea versicolor treatment.This single-blind randomized clinical trial recruited 44 patients, between 15 to 70 years, who were randomly allocated into amphotericin and clotrimazole groups. Prior to patients' enrolment, the trial was registered at Iranian Registry of Clinical Trials on 7th March 2022. The primary time point for outcome measurement was two weeks after the start of treatment.
