Unbiased Metagenomic Sequencing for the identification of pathogens in pediatric meningitis in Dhaka, Bangladesh: a retrospective case control study

The lack of data on etiology of meningitis in endemic regions impedes effective treatment for individual patients and evidence-based public health policy decisions. The goal of this study was to evaluate whether metagenomic next-generation sequencing of cerebrospinal fluid clarifies etiology of the infectious causes of pediatric meningitis in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
