Entrepreneurs’ Relationship Network, Entrepreneurial Bricolage and Sustainable Entrepreneurship: An empirical analysis from China

This study targets entrepreneurs of nascent ventures established within the last 8 years . The initial questionnaire was pretested among 15 entrepreneurs and 3 academic experts to ensure the validity of the questions. Based on their feedback, the survey questions were fine-tuned. The questionnaires were distributed through the following two channels: (1) Field Surveys: We visited 17 representative maker spaces in China and invited 150 entrepreneurs there to complete paper questionnaires. The selected maker spaces are recognized and reputable among entrepreneurs and are supported by well-known enterprises or the government. (2) Online Surveys: To collect more data, we created an electronic questionnaire using Wenjuanxing (a commonly used questionnaire design tool in China) and directly distributed it to WeChat groups composed of entrepreneurs. A total of 300 entrepreneurs were invited to answer questions by clicking on the online link. Between June and November 2024, 450 questionnaires were distributed to Chinese entrepreneurs, and 380 were successfully recovered, with 335 being valid. The overall response rate was 84.4%, and the effective response rate was 74.4%.
