VPRS 16818 Operation Books

The information in these volumes includes the name, sex and age of the patient, the disease and the operation performed, the date and time of the operation, and the name of the surgeon. The 5th and 6th books are computer printouts. Computer printing appears to have started in January 1975, but information dating back to October 1974 has also been printed, resulting in a duplication of data for approximately four months between books 4 and 5. Presumably the information continued to be entered into the computer system post 1976; however whether further hardcopy volumes were produced (or retained) is unknown.Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Archives. They were part of RCH accession number 1996/001.
