Analysis of iECM Immunomodulatory Capacities in an Animal Model of Systemic Inflammation

Immunomodulatory effects of an infusible extracellular matrix (iECM) material were evaluated by a 547 mouse immunology panel using the nanostring nCounter mouse immunology panel (n=547 genes) Female C57 bl/6 were treated with a dual dose of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to induce severe systemic inflammation leading to a Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome (MODS) phenotype over a 30 hour period. Animals were treated with an infusible extracellular matrix (iECM) material or saline 10 hours post initial LPS dosage. Animals were sacrificed 30 hours post initial LPS dosage and RNA from blood, heart, lung, kidney, and brain tissue were isolated and transcriptional differences due to iECM treatment were analyzed using nanostring nCounter analysis.
