Nontyphoidal Salmonella (NTS) is a leading cause of bacteraemia in sub-Saharan Africa. Multi-drug resistance and resistance to newer drugs are rising rapidly which signify the disease burden. In this study, we performed genomic and phylogeographical analyses of a collection of iNTS isolates from a multi-country standardized surveillance across 10 different sub-Saharan African countries to understand the genetic characteristics and transmission dynamics of predominant AMR/MDR iNTS serotypes across the continent.
