资源简介:

This dataset accompanies the manuscript "Associations between bilateral limb length asymmetry and AI-derived movement symmetry in youth multi-sport athletes" by (Moganan et al., 2026). What's in it. Anthropometric measurements of bilateral lower- and upper-limb segments, computed structural asymmetry indices, and AI-derived functional movement symmetry outcomes for 165 youth Malaysian national athletes (114 male, 51 female; mean age 18.6 ± 0.7 years) recruited across 26 sports from the Malaysia Juara Programme. Data collected 9–15 September 2025. Measurements. Bilateral limb lengths (ASIS-to-malleolus, femur, tibia, humerus, radius/ulna, arm span) obtained by direct anthropometry using a flexible tape with 1 mm graduations. Functional movement symmetry outcomes derived from the HoloMotion AI Movement Screening System (Beijing Xinqing Taike Sports Technology), a depth-camera-based markerless motion capture platform, including neck, shoulder, torso, pelvis, and lower-limb symmetry subscores (0–100), bilateral range of motion values, and Limb Symmetry Indices computed per Bishop et al. (2023). De-identification. Participant identifiers replaced with sequential codes (P001–P165). Specific sport names, home state, and original identifiers removed to prevent re-identification of national squad athletes. Ethics. Approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI), Reference 2025-0816-01. All participants provided written informed consent. Related work. The same cohort supports a companion manuscript, "The Musculoskeletal Injury Risk Profiles Among Youth Multi-Sport Athletes" (Moganan et al., 2026), which analyses different variables from the same dataset. Both papers cite this deposit. Funding. Ministry of Youth and Sports, Malaysia; National Sports Institute of Malaysia (Grant Ref. ISNRG 002/2026–003/2026). Contact.
