Here we describe microbial community dynamics in the MICROX mesocosm experiment. Using 16S rRNA gene sequencing of filtered water samples collected from the mesocosm treatments, we monitor the temporal changes in microbial diversity of microaggregates that form in response to the presence of oil and chemically dispersed oil.
