Danish Welfare Survey, 1986

The survey aims at giving a description of the development of the living conditions of the adult Danish population in the period from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s. The approx. 5000 persons between 20 and 69 who were selected for the 'Danish Welfare Survey, 1976' (DDA-0070) were re-interviewed in 1986 and were asked the most central questions concerning level of living from the 1976 survey. # # The following information is included in the material: # #- Size and composition of the household; type of dwelling, size of dwelling, conveniences in or in connection with the dwelling, and nuisances in the dwelling or the surroundings. #- Employment conditions and working hours, including sideline, if any, and nuisances and risks in connection with the work; vocational education; the respondent's assessment of her/his health. #- Contact with friends; spare time activities. #- Membership of labour market organizations, of a political party (without specification of the name of the party), other forms of political organizations and other organizations, including whether the respondent has any positions of trust, and whether the respondent has any public positions of trust. #- Financial conditions: the family's income from employment, whether the family receives various forms of public assistance, size of regular expenses and what is left for daily consumption, gross income of the family in 1985; attitude to the size of unemployment benefit, old age pension, and sick pension; whether the respondent has various pension schemes; capital assets of the family; and the respondent's opinion of the development of living conditions within the last 10 years. #- Employment and vocational education of the respondent's spouse. #- The respondent's personal well-being; fear of violence; changes of the family situation within the last 10 years; and the respondent's childhood conditions
