Redesigning Collaborative Teaching for Sustainable Human–AI Partnership: A Design Principle from AI-Augmented Learning Methods in Higher Education.

This dataset provides the anonymized, item-level survey responses underlying the quantitative results reported in Höpfl, F., "Redesigning Collaborative Teaching for Sustainable Human–AI Partnership: A Design Principle from AI-Augmented Learning Methods in Higher Education" (submitted to Frontiers in Education, Research Topic: Institutional and Ecosystem Approaches to Human-AI Partnership in Higher Education). The data were collected within a design-based research (DBR) programme evaluating phase-based AI constraints across seven collaborative teaching methods (Think-Pair-Share, Peer Instruction, Gruppenpuzzle/Jigsaw, Fishbowl, Mirror Argument, Station Rotation) administered to five student groups at Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences over two academic years (2025–2026), plus a complementary stakeholder social-validity survey conducted at the University:Future Festival (U:FF), Graz, in June 2026. The deposit includes: Seven CSV files with core and method-specific item responses for each student-group administration (Likert scale, 1–5), sufficient to reproduce all descriptive statistics (top-two-box agreement, means, SDs, Ns) reported in the manuscript's Results section. One CSV file with the closed-item responses (B1–B6) from the stakeholder survey (N=12). A README/codebook documenting all variables, missing-value codes, and the mapping to the manuscript's tables. For data-protection reasons, survey-platform technical metadata (browser/device fingerprints, IP addresses, exact timestamps, session identifiers) have been removed, and the stakeholder survey's open-text responses (item C1/C2) are not included here; the curated, coded version of those responses is available in the manuscript's Supplementary Material. The student-strand data collection holds a positive ethics vote from the Gemeinsame Ethikkommission der Hochschulen Bayerns (GEHBa), ref. GEHBa-202603-V-460. The stakeholder-strand survey was exempt from a separate ethics vote under GEHBa Statute §2(1) / FAQ 07/2021. Both surveys were anonymous at the point of collection.
